What happens at the Meet & Greet?

The Meet & Greet allows us to have a good chat! It is an opportunity for your dog, or pet, to get to know me and vice versa. We talk about your animals needs, health, likes and dislikes. I can hand over and explain my terms & conditions, forms and hopefully we can book in our first walk or visit!

How many dogs do you walk at a time?

If it is a group walk, the max. capacity is 6 - as per Plymouth City Council's

dog walking limit.

Adventure walks are limited to 4 dogs.

Do you give treats?

That's up to you! I usually carry treats on me but during the Meet & Greet, we will discuss if your dog has any dietary requirements, such as allergies or behavioural issues around food. It is here that I will ask if your dog can have treats, although you can always message me any time if your preference changes.

Do you arrange pick up and drop off?

Yes, we pick up at an agreed time and place, and once our walk has finished we will drop them back home.  During out Meet & Greet, we will discuss drop-off arrangements, for instance - you may want your lounge (with cream carpets and a new sofa) door to be shut!

We always give a towel dry and check that water bowls are full on their arrival back home.

Do I need to be home?

No, you don't have to be home. Most clients are comfortable with sharing a set of keys with us - I have a Key Release Form which we both sign upon handing over keys.

What happens in an emergency?

In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will contact you immediately. We will also have details of your chosen emergency contact from the initial Meet & Greet that we can contact too. If required, we will take your pet straight to your named vet or depending on the circumstances, to our closest one.

We are also Pet First Trained Level 2 and carry first aid equipment with us.

What if I need to cancel?

Please get in contact as soon as possible, before 48 hours for charges not to apply.

What happens in bad weather?

We still go out if it's cold and raining! In extreme weather conditions, we may have to shorten or cancel walks for the safety of both your pet and myself. When we get wet (and let's face it, we get rained on A LOT), I give the dogs a towel dry and ask for a spare towel to be left out for them on our return.

Are you available 7 days a week?

Walks are generally given Monday-Friday, however weekend walks, visits and sitting is available with prior notice.

Do you walk the dogs off lead?

Up to you! We do usually walk dogs off-lead, however if your dog has not got recall or you would feel more comfortable with your dog being kept on a lead then we will respect that! We can also attach a long-lead so that the dogs can still run and play.

Dogs will not be let off-lead without prior written consent.
